YCU Juniors
Welcome to the new website of York City Ultimate. It is currently under construction and if you have any problem finding the information you need please email ycujuniors@gmail.com.
York City Ultimate is a community sports club with the aim of trying to grow the sport of Ultimate Frisbee in the York area.
What is Ultimate Frisbee?
Its a good question and the answer in short is a fun, inclusive, self-refereed sport involving throwing around a disc (commonly called a Frisbee)
If you would like to get a taster of how the game plays feel free to watch a few minutes of the video which feature our current YCU Juniors playing a game at York Indoors Tournament 2022 (playing under the name YCU Gunpowder) skip the video to 6:30:30 to see them in action :)
What is being offered for free?
As a club we are very proud of our current Junior players but we really want to offer the opportunity to play ultimate to more young people. Through support from Benenden Health we are able to offer 2 hours of free indoor training sessions to approximately 20 young people age 14-17. However, we would appreciate a voluntary contribution of £3 per session which would be reinvested in the club to provide further opportunities. This is totally voluntary and as a club we have a passion for trying to reduce financial barriers to taking part.
Where, when, and who?
Starting on Thursday 28th April and running for 10 weeks we will be running a 2 hour junior training session at Burnholme Community Centre from 19:00 til 21:00.
The sessions will be co-ordinated by our DBS checked Junior Co-Ordinator YCU/Co-Chairman Matt George and Co-Chairman Tom Coward who have both completed NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Training. Other club members will assist in running these sessions in a supervised capacity.
If you think your child would like to take part in these sessions please fill in this online form which will register the interest for your child, provide us with a means to contact you and also act as the parental permission for your child to attend.
Your data will be held securely and processed only for the purpose of contacting you about this opportunity and future YCU opportunities for your child.
I am 14-17 years old what should I do?
Please do not fill in this form yourself or email the club directly. Please ask your parent or guardian to register an interest on your behalf.
